The Grid Project is a collaborative mural experience bringing together 72 young artists, ages 6–17, to create a large-scale mural for the Cameron Park Zoo Education Center.

This year’s mural will celebrate South America, with each participant designing and painting their own 12 × 12-inch canvas inspired by the region’s wildlife, plants, culture, and natural environment. Together, all 72 canvases will form one 12 × 6-foot collaborative artwork.

Participants will take part in hands-on workshops throughout September and October, where they’ll explore creativity, learn about the connection between art and the natural world, and contribute to a permanent community artwork at the Zoo.

No professional art experience is required. We’re looking for young people who enjoy creativity, collaboration, and trying something new!
